A recently-circulated infographic detailing the hourly rate of automobile accidents in Los Angeles illustrates the dangerous influence of both congestion and bad weather on driving conditions.

Cross-referencing weather and crash data, the infographic, which can be found here, breaks down the rate of traffic accidents per hour in both rainy and dry conditions.  As can be seen, in every instance, rainy conditions entail more motor vehicle accidents than dry conditions.  While this infographic is based on data for Los Angeles, it is no stretch to believe that the same results would be found in Ohio.  This is to say nothing of the added dangers Cleveland drivers face from the winter snow.

Also noteworthy is the correlation between total accidents per hour and the traffic congestion on the road.  The infographic supports what most of us have observed for ourselves: the more drivers there are on the road, the more bad drivers there are on the road.
