Lowe Scott Fisher is pleased to announce attorney Meghan P. Connolly’s recent appointment to the Suboxone Multi-District Litigation (MDL) Plaintiff’s Steering Committee. The MDL is in its early procedural stages in the United States District Court, in the Northern District of Ohio. The MDL will be the main stage of the national effort to bring justice to individuals injured by the use of Suboxone Oral Film (buprenorphine/naloxone). Ms. Connolly was appointed to the steering committee at the hearing that took place on March 7, 2024.

Suboxone Oral Film treatment is used to treat patients with opioid dependency. The crux of the litigation against the drug manufacturers is the allegation that the film was defectively designed and that it lacked an important warning regarding the known risk of dental injury from the use of the film.

“I got involved in this litigation after learning that Suboxone Oral Film has caused extensive dental injuries that weren’t warned of. When patients are denied adequate warnings, they are denied the informed choice of whether and how long to take the specific medication,” said Attorney Connolly, a partner at Lowe Scott Fisher in Cleveland, Ohio. “As part of the steering committee of the Suboxone MDL, I will be working with a team of excellent counsel across the country to give a voice to Suboxone Film users with significant dental injury.”

Many patients prescribed the oral film iteration of Suboxone who suffered side effects and damages such as tooth decay, tooth loss, reduced bone density, jaw damage, and other major dental problems, will seek recourse in the MDL.

Victims who experienced problems after using Suboxone Oral Film are encouraged to retain counsel without delay. It is expected that claims in Ohio will no longer be viable as of June 2024. Lowe Scott Fisher offers free Suboxone case consultations to determine if your claim meets firm criteria to be filed in the MDL.
