Lowe Profile: Meghan Connolly

Our Lowe Profile feature for this month is partner attorney Meghan Connolly. Meghan has been with Lowe Scott Fisher since 2010, where she began her career as a law clerk.

Education and Background:
I interviewed to be a law clerk during my 1L summer break from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. I was so impressed by this firm. The attorneys were all so smart, relatable, and hardworking. I was given challenging and creative research and writing assignments because the attorneys were always thinking outside the box on how to help their clients. The staff were veterans who made me feel welcome and always had great advice for what to do when I was clueless.

Tell us about your family:
My husband Kyle and I live in Kirtland with our four boys, three of whom are under the age of two. We did it for the tax deductions. Kyle runs a granite countertop business. He loves fantasy football, playing with the kids, and beer.

What are some hobbies you enjoy outside of work?
Laundry and changing diapers. And someday, I will return to playing volleyball. I also love to shop thrift and vintage stores looking for great deals on unique items.

The professional or personal achievement you’re most proud of:
Becoming a partner at my firm. It is an honor to work in the trenches of civil justice alongside my partners. Everywhere I go, whether it is the courthouse, opposing counsel’s office, or a bar association meeting, people speak highly of my firm and of my partners. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.

If you could have dinner with any person in history, who would it be and why?
My husband! Because we get to eat dinner just the two of us about once a year. Other than him, I’d say Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

Have you ever met someone famous?
I studied cello as a kid and my dad played in the Cleveland Orchestra, so I was able to meet Yo-Yo Ma which I still remember to this day.

If you could have any superpower what would it be and why?
To remember people’s names when I meet them. Or to not need sleep. It’s true what they say, there are never enough hours in the day.

What is your favorite fall activity?
Putting up Halloween decorations at home with the kids.
