U. S. News & World Report Names Lowe Scott Fisher to 2010 List of Country’s Best Law Firms

U. S. News & World Report, the publication known for its popular annual rankings of hospitals and colleges, has named Lowe Scott Fisher Co., LPA to its 2010 “Best Law Firms” list. The firm is Ohio’s only product liability firm representing only plaintiffs to be named to the nationwide ranking.

“Our firm has a passionate belief in a civil justice system that makes our society safer, by encouraging people and companies to act responsibly,” explained James Lowe, senior partner of the firm. “We hope — and believe— that our advocacy for the seriously injured helps make the world a better place. Lowe Scott Fisher, founded in 1976, is a recognized leader in the areas of products liability, personal injury and medical malpractice. The firm successfully represents injured people in the areas of automobile product safety, home and workplace safety, medical and birth injury cases, and it fights for families of victims of wrongful death.

U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers, a worldwide survey of lawyers, recently worked together to rank about 9,000 firms in 81 practice areas in 171 metropolitan areas. To help develop survey questions, participants were asked what elements they considered necessary for clients hiring law firms, for lawyers choosing a referring firm, and for lawyers looking for jobs. The surveyors used this information to gather input from thousands of law firm clients, lawyers and law firm managers, partners/associates, as well as marketing and recruiting officers to ascertain its Best Law Firms list.

Client survey participants voted on expertise, responsiveness, understanding of a business and its needs, cost-effectiveness, civility, and whether they would refer another client to a law firm. Lawyers participating in the survey voted on expertise, responsiveness, integrity, cost-effectiveness, and whether they would refer a matter to a firm.

A total of 10,659 firms were included in the Best Law Firms ranking process.

In addition, Lowe was recently honored as the Best Lawyers’ “Lawyer of the Year” for 2010 in product liability in Cleveland, and Lowe was again honored as Ohio SuperLawyers for 2011.
